Wisdom
If I asked you to repeatedly toss someone weighing 80kg two meters into the air, and not break a sweat you would think I am crazy. Yet with a casual flick of your quads and perfect timing it is readily possible.
There is already a good chance that you have done this many a time without stopping to think about how it all comes together. I am talking about the swing at your local park of course. It is amazing how a handful of correctly timed leg movements can translate to the incredible power you can generate in a children's playground.
Often it takes realisations like this to give us faith that incredible techniques can arise from such little effort. All that is needed is a solid grounding and our body structure to send someone flying. As long our arms are relaxed like the chains of a swing, we can redirect an attacking force to upset our opponents balance and execute a throw.
As some homework I encourage you to go down to your local park and sit on a swing. From a standing start, it will take next to no time and negligible effort to have you soaring two or three meters above the ground. Experience the interaction of gravity, timing and structure, and bring this understanding with you to your next class.
